Annual Bastille Day Bash
A celebration of Liberte’ and Fraternite’

Sun. July 9

Doors at 12:30; Crepes served from 1 to 2 p.m.

Pay homage to an uprising to free political prisoners 228 years ago with an afternoon of fine food and film. Join your neighbors and friends for crepes made to order in the French classical tradition by Master Baker David Bradford. Enjoy live musical accompaniment as you dine by the youth string ensemble Strings of Fire.  And please do indulge in either a Champagne cocktail or something equally magnifique from The State’s bar.   Cocktails will be available for purchase along with orange juice and espresso drinks.  Follow your repast with the French comic thriller The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq (NR) 1 Hr. 33 Min.   In this comedy drama from director Guillaume Nicloux, author Michel Houellebecq is kidnapped by a group of amateur criminals who bungle their efforts from start to finish. This playful blurring of fact and fiction is helped along by the fact that Houellebecq plays himself on screen!

Admission: $15
