This film follows a soldier’s parents whose lives are forever changed when military officials show up at their front door. Learning of their son’s death, Michael and Dafna experience gut-wrenching grief as they deal with the loss of their son. Hitting on intense emotional truths about the cost of war, Foxtrot contains some of the most striking, memorable imagery of the year.
“Brilliantly constructed with a visual audacity that serves the subject rather than the other way around, this is award-winning filmmaking on a fearless level.” -- Jay Weissberg, Variety

This documentary looks at the life, work and religious heritage of famed violinist Itzhak Perlman. As a young musician struggling with a disability, Itzhak strived to be taken seriously by his peers. Now world-renowne, he shows us that he is a funny, irreverent and self-deprecating individual. Here his life story unspools in conversations with masterful musicians, family and friends, and most endearingly his devoted wife of 50 years, Toby. “Itzhak Perlman’s violin playing transcends mere performance to evoke the celebrations and struggles of real life.” says renowned Tel Aviv violinmaker Amnon Weinstein.

In Wes Anderson’s latest feature-length film, 12-year-old Atari Kobayashi is the ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.
“Wes Anderson’s stop-motion canine fairy tale ~ with a timely political subtext ~ is a triumph of pure imagination.”
~ Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
